25 Cats Name Sam and One Blue Pussy; [together with] Holy Cats by Andy Warhol's Mother. First facsimile editions of these two works, which were originally privately printed by Warhol in the 1950s. Holy Cats was written and illustrated by Andy Warhol's mother as a eulogy to her beloved cat, Hester. 25 Cats Name Sam and One Blue Pussy was a privately printed, limited edition book produced by Andy Warhol in 1957, inspired by his mother's love of cats, with eighteen individually hand-coloured lithographs. Warhol's friend Charles Lisanby was credited with penning the amusing title, and his mother was responsible for the calligraphy for the title page, accidentally leaving off the 'd' in 'Named', adding to the eccentric feel of the project.
