This was one of the reported 250 signed copies that were distributed by Goldsboro Books, whose original receipt is loosely inserted. Rowling's first pseudonymous novel surprised Goldsboro Books and caused a media frenzy when, three months after publication, she was revealed as the author. The first of the "Cormoran Strike" crime novels was printed in a first impression of 1,750 copies.
