A scarce complete set of the Folio Society edition of Charles Dickens' works, consisting of the major novels and the Christmas books, printed in facsimile from the Nonesuch Press edition, published in the 1930's. The Nonesuch is widely regarded as the finest twentieth century edition of Dickens for its textual accuracy and handsome appearance. Each volume has an introduction by well-known literary figure, including Peter Ackroyd, Ian Sinclair, Hilary Mantel, A. N. Wilson, and Simon Callow. Complete sets of this edition are scarce. 16 volumes, complete, royal 8vo (illustrations from the original editions; publisher's original morocco-backed cloth boards gilt, top edge gilt, original slipcases (light wear), a fine set.
