Former Governor, then Senator Long was assassinated on September 10th, the same month that saw publication of this work. A brief and likely hastily composed foreword serves as a justification of its posthumous publication. The ownership inscription on the front free endsheet signifies an early purchase, as it is dated at "Oak Park Ill 9/24/35." Uncommon in dust jacket.
