Micha Josef Berdyczewski (a.k.a. Mikhah Yosef Bin-Gorion Berdichevsky, 1865-1921) was a Jewish writer, journalist and scholar. He was born in modern-day Ukraine and moved to study in Berlin, Breslau and Bern to obtain a Doctor of Philosophy degree. He studied the works of Nietzsche and Hegel and was deeply influenced by them. For a time he wrote articles for 'Ha-Tsfira'. Berdyczewski called for a change in the perception of religious dogmas and Jewish values, and was especially interested in Jewish agadot, which he often rewrote.
