One of Huxley's greatest books. Produced in somewhat oversized format compared to most of his other Chatto publications, and vulnerable as such, issued in a cream dustjacket with some red embellishment - one of the most fugitive colours in the printer's arsenal - and with a red topstain much given to fading. This is one of the better copies we've seen. First edition, first impression, trade issue; 8vo; publisher's orange cloth, titles to spine gilt, red topstain slightly faded, with the unclipped dustjacket, spine panel tanned with faded red embellishment, light dust-soiling, creasing to head and foot of spine panel with two small splits at foot; very good indeed.
