9 vols. 12mo. Contemporary mottled calf, gilt flowers and leaves on spines, marbled edges. Some occasional scuffs on covers commensurate with age, but still a very handsome French set. Item #61663 Thomas Corneille 1625-1709 was the younger brother of Pierre Corneille, and wrote a number of comedies, tragedies, and opera libretti. His Timocrate, a tragicomedy 1656 , was perhaps the most successful French play of the 17th century.
