A fine copy of this narrative of the second Fram Expedition, 1898-1902, under the Norwegian explorer Otto Sverdrup. Includes the mapping of southern western Ellesmere Island, and the discovery of Axel Heiberg, Ellef Ringnes, Anud Ringnes, and Findlay Islands. The expedition filled in the last major unknown area on the map of the western Arctic. It includes good detailed descriptions of surviving in Arctic conditions.
