FRANK, Pär, and Jonsson RUNE ( editors ). A full run of ‘Foto Expo Bok’. Stockholm: Nordisk Rotogravyr Förlag and P. A. Norstedt Söner . 1964–67. Thirteen numbered vols, 8vo (some oblong). Original black and white photo-illustrated wrappers; black and white photo-illustrations throughout; minimal wear to spines, some occasional creasing to edges, discolouration to wrappers; a very good set. The first thirteen issues of the publication Foto Expo Bok , published in the 1960s in celebration of contemporary avant-garde photography in Sweden. Foto Expo Bok was a both celebration and in-depth survey of the radical contemporary photography being produced in Sweden at a pivotal time in the development of the medium. Each issue reproduces an array of photographs in brilliant black and white, and contains an introductory text in Swedish. Many are solely dedicated to discussion of a particular series by one photographer: notably Beata Bergström’s documentation of The Royal Dramatic Theatre, Stockholm; a young Christer Strömholm’s project of self-exploration; Yngve Baum’s moving and dignified portrait of the circus performer ‘Kiki’. Others, such as issue 7 Unga fotografer 65 (Young Photographers 65), offer a broader survey of the practitioners who defined the medium in Sweden. The thirteen issues of Foto Expo Bok are listed below: 1. Beata Bergström: Tio år med Dramaten 2. Ture Sjölander: Ni är fotograferad 3. Lütfi Özkök: Författarporträtt 4. Ove Alström: Portrait of my pals 5. Christer
