Lehrbegriff der Staats-Ordnung, oder Entwickelung des vom D. Franz Quesnay erfundenen Physiokratischen Regierungs- und Staats-Wirthschafts-Systems. First edition in German of this work which sets out the main principles of physiocratic doctrine. Published in Germany, the centre of anti-physiocracy, at the movement's height, and in the same year as Johann Friedrich von Pfeiffer's manifesto Der AntiPhysiocrat, this translation emerged from the heat of Cameralist opposition to the agrarian mode of political economy. The work was originally published in French in 1777 as De l'ordre social, which was considered "the last general manifesto of the pure physiocratic school, properly so called" (Lalor, p. 195). The German translation adds an editor's and a translator's foreword. This copy is bound without leaf 2G8, likely a sectional title. This corresponds with the copy held at the Bavarian State Library.
