An earliest dedicated chart of Bequia, surveyed in the year the Grenadines passed into British possession, and one of the most detailed eighteenth century printed maps of the island. This finely engraved map was surveyed in 1763, the year of the Treaty of Paris, when Saint Vincent and the Grenadines entered British control after a long period of French and British competition in the Lesser Antilles.
