Early Stages. First edition, inscribed by the author on the front free endpaper, "Clive Hirschhorn from John Gielgud". This work is Gielgud's biography of the early years of his life, including his time with the Oxford Playhouse, studying at RADA, and his childhood. Clive Hirschhorn (b. 1940) was the theatre reviewer for The Sunday Express for over 30 years. His ownership inscription is on the front pastedown. Loosely inserted is a card "With the compliments of Sir John Gielgud".
