Under the Red Jack, First British edition, published in the same year as the Canadian first edition. Charles Henry Jeremiah Snider (1879-1971) was a journalist who wrote a column called "Schooner Days" for the Toronto Telegram. In 1911, Snider discovered and then excavated the schooner Nancy, which was burned by her crew to prevent her capture during the War of 1812. The publication of this work corresponds with the opening of The Nancy Museum.
