Letters Home. First edition, presentation copy, inscribed by the author on the first blank, "Offley Wakeman, from A.H.P. 1894." This was the first of Major Heber-Percy's books on his Middle Eastern travels and recounts his journey throught Ehypt and the Levant in spring 1892.The recipient (1850-1929) served as the high sheriff of Shropshire - home to the author's fine residence, Hodnet Hall - and had his seat at Yeaton Peverey Hall near Shrewsbury. His arms are embossed in blind above Heber-Percy's inscription.
