Trophy awarded to the winners of the 1931 Lady Aglen Cup. Contested yearly, Aglen Cup was established in memory of Isobel Aglen (née Balfour, 1886-1925), a prominent member of the Beijing expatriate community and the wife of Sir Francis Aglen (1869-1932), Sir Robert Hart's successor as head of the Imperial Maritime Customs. The polo club played its matches near to the Legation Quarter, members coming from the ranks of the British and American legation guards and the customs service.In 1931, club affairs were overseen by Captain C. T. Brooks (American Legation Guard), the honorary secretary and treasurer, and Lieutenant W. G. Wymans, the field manager.
