Mandela signed the book when he visited Turfhall Primary School in Cape Town; Sandra's sister worked at the school, and many teachers and parents brought copies to be signed.Mandela's internationally acclaimed autobiography chronicles his undercover activities, imprisonment for treason and quarter-century behind bars, his rise to international icon, the end of apartheid, and his landslide victory to become South Africa's first black president. The UK, US, and South African editions were published near-simultaneously.
