Song in the Night. First edition, inscribed by the author on the front free endpaper, "To Pat & Mary Cooper, with love from Mary (Warrack) Milne, March 1915". This poetry anthology is the second collaboration between the arts and crafts illustrator Phoebe Anna Traquair (1852-1936) and the Warrack family. Traquair had previously contributed to Grace Warrack's Revelations of Divine Love (1901).The recipients are fellow Aberdeenshire inhabitants and advocate Patrick Cooper (1859-1941) and Mary Cook (1860-1944). Underneath the inscription are the initials "P. A. C. 1924," belonging to the couple's son, Patrick Ashley Cooper (1887-1961), a British businessman and former director of the Bank of England.
