ANON. Monte-Carlo Palace Hotel. Original hotel luggage label, c.1920. 80 x 160 mm. The hotel, located in Beausoleil directly overlooking Monte Carlo, opened in 1903. It was designed by architect Georges Chedanne in the Belle Epoque style and featured a notable Winter garden with a glass roof. The hotel was owned by the Compagnie des Wagons-Lits. Famous names including Stravinsky, Churchill and the Imperial Russian family have stayed. The hotel has been listed as a historical monument since 1989. Today it is an apartment building.
