Middle-of-the-Road Policy Leads to Socialism. An Address at the University Club of New York, April 18, 1950. First standalone edition of this characteristic speech by the Austrian School economist, then a visiting professor at New York University. Von Mises's target is interventionism, and particularly the argument that it was a hybrid policy that would not lead to the evils of socialism. His address was originally published in the Commercial and Financial Chronicle in May 1950.
