Collated and complete. First edition, printed posthumously, of Ferreira s account of the Jesuit mission in Tonkin and Cochinchina (modern day Vietnam), where had arrived in 1694 after serving at other missions in the East Indies. Ferreira s work concerns the establishment of the Jesuit mission, the baptising of the local population, the persecution and martyrdom Christian missionaries, and a general description of the region and the habits and customs of its people.
