The most famous publication by the preeminent British art historian and museum curator, covering the Mongol style under the Il-Khans, painting under the Timurids 1400 1450, the Shiraz School 1415 1503, the School of Herat 1452 1510, the Safavi School under Shah Tahmasp, the School of Bukhara and other provincial schools, and later Safavi painting. A fine copy. Provenance: Australian artist Yvonne Audette (born 1930), her wet stamps to the upper and lower endpapers, acquired in 2025.
