Quarto, gilt-lettered cloth (a couple of small stains), in scarce illustrated dustjacket (stained at lower corner, chip with loss at head of spine, old tape repairs verso), offsetting to endpapers, pp. xii; 42, text illustrations and twelve full colour plates with guard sheets. Signed by the illustrator Jacynth Parsons on the half-title dates December 1927. Jacynth Parson (1911-1992) was a talented young artist, she was only sixteen years old when this book was published.
