Octavo, lettered cloth in dustjacket (small chips to head and foot of spine, water stain to lower panel), previous owner s name stickers to front free endpaper, pp. 308; tear with loss to upper corner of pp. 299-300, pages toned, else very good. Crime mystery love set in a rare book store where a collector is found murdered in the backroom of the store and his personal librarian is the prime suspect. The theft of a rare volume worth one hundred thousand dollars from the rare book store adds other motives and complexity to the case.
