New South Wales parliamentary paper that forms part of the ongoing debate about Chinese immigration in the Australian colonies, that had raged since the gold rushes long before the ultimate introduction of the White Australia legislation of 1901-2. The paper tables comments by prominent politicians (most notably Henry Parkes) regarding a proposed common intercolonial policy that would halt or restrict Chinese immigration.
