This photograph of Taree s Art Deco-style Boomerang Theatre was taken by local photographer C. H. Soden and can be dated to around the end of 1929: on the wall is a poster for the film The Case of Lena Smith , which was screened at the Boomerang at that time. The Taree Theatre was built and opened in the 1921. It later was re-named Boomerang Theatre and was a segregated theatre with Aboriginal persons having to sit in the front rows of seats in the stalls, and enter (after the house-lights had dimmed) from a side entrance.
