Octavo, quarter cloth over papered boards, spine lettered in gilt (a fine example); inscribed by the artist in pen on the front pastedown Yours sincerely, Norman Lindsay , small tape marks to endpapers, upper hinge slightly split, original signed etching by Norman Lindsay tipped-in, errata slip, pp 292; a very good copy. Limited to 120 copies, of which 100 were for sale. This is number 55. A trade edition was also issued, and a second edition published in 1924. The moral philosophy of Norman Lindsay, focusing on his thoughts on good and evil resulting from his experience of the First World War. During this horrific conflict Lindsay lost his brother Reginald on the Western Front. Rare.
