Albumen print photograph, 185 x 240 mm, laid down recto of a nineteenth-century album leaf of thick card, the mount inscribed in pencil by the album s compiler Bennion s yacht Hinemoa ; no photographer s imprint; a strong print in good condition with some very light scattered foxing; verso with an inferior example of the same print, heavily foxed. In the 1880s, Frederick Bennion was Secretary of the Perth Yacht Club. His swift ocean-going yacht Hinemoa was victorious in numerous popular match races off Perth and Fremantle in the second half of that decade. We can trace no photographs of Hinemoa on Trove.
