Copper-engraved map with hand-coloured outlines, dissected and laid on linen, 780 x 920 mm (sheet), folding to 230 x 195 mm, housed in the original marbled card chemise and slipcase (245 x 210 mm) with original paper title-piece lettered in gilt Karte von Asien ; the map has some foxing along the main vertical fold but is otherwise in fine condition; the card chemise and slipcase are both extremely well preserved, each with some light rubbing and edge wear. An attractive early nineteenth-century cased map of Asia by the Austrian cartographer Franz Fried, published in Vienna by Artaria and Company.
