Albumen print photograph, carte de visite format, 104 x 64 mm (mount); verso with imprint of B. C. Boake. From Freeman Bros. Photographer. 330 George St. Sydney. (over Mr. Jones, Jeweller c.) ; a strong print with excellent clarity; the print and mount are both in very good condition. A lovely full-length portrait by Irish-born photographer Barcroft Capel Boake. Boake had established himself as a photographer in Melbourne between 1858 and 1862 before relocating to Sydney, where he worked for Freeman Bros. for several years.
