Quarter plate ambrotype photograph, 110 x 80 mm; housed in original brass preserver, lacking a case; some loss of emulsion at the edges of the plate, scattered tiny marks and minor crazing; resealed. Provenance: Private collection, Melbourne; acquired from Christopher Wahren Fine Photographs, New Haven, CT, USA, December 2009; evidently the ambrotype was resealed by CWFP and has the following pencilled note to verso: Purchased from Australia May 2004 from an old family estate in South Australia .
