Albumen print photograph, carte de visite format, 101 x 62 mm; recto imprinted in bottom margin Johnstone, O Shannessy Co. / Next the Post Office, Melbourne ; verso blank; the print is in excellent condition (some mottling in the negative), as is the mount. Lovely full-length portrait of a young girl posed beside a secretaire. The image is sharp enough for us to make out the details of the photograph in the album she is idly perusing.
