A handsome copy of Percy Bysshe Shelley's collected poems. Printed at the Chiswick Press for George Bell and Sons' 'Endymion Series', this edition is wonderfully illustrated by Robert Anning Bell (1863-1933), who also designed the book's elegant Arts and Crafts-style binding. One of the leading artists in the Arts and Crafts movement, Bell designed book covers for a number of publishers including Dent, Bell, and John Lane. This edition also features an introduction written by the prominent English scholar, poet, and author Walter Raleigh. First edition thus; 8vo (21 x 14.5 cm); light spotting on prelims, ownership inscription in pen to front flyleaves (1927), frontispiece illustrated by Robert Anning Bell with tissue guard, black and white in-text illustrations and plates throughout the book, decorative endpapers with 'S' monogram design; original light brown cloth boards with floral green decoration in the Arts and Crafts style, designed by Robert Anning Bell, gilt lettering to upper boards, fore-edge untrimmed, large publisher's emblem in lower board in green, spine lightly bumped, a very fine copy; [xxii], 333 pp.
