[British, November 1858]. Stereoscopic photograph, each individual image 71 x 64 mm (arched format), on original card mount 110 x 170 mm (trimmed at the lower margin and so lacking the printed caption), verso with fully contemporary caption in pencil On Board the Yacht Maraquita (same wording as the original printed caption); the prints are both in very good condition, while the mount has a small ink spot at left and light handling marks. This very early maritime stereoview photograph was taken by the Irish sea-captain, R. J. Henry, using an instantaneous exposure. It was published as a mounted stereoview in The Stereoscopic Magazine: A Gallery of Landscape Scenery, Architecture, Antiquities, and Natural History (Volume 3, 1862). For a complete example with the printed caption, see the example in The J. P. Getty Museum
