Cornwell writing as John le Carré wrote 26 novels using his own experience working for the British intelligence services. He served in both MI5 (the domestic counter-intelligence agency) and MI6 (the foreign intelligence service) in the 1950s and early 1960s. The Mission Song is a spy thriller that delves into themes of corporate exploitation, political intrigue, and the complexities of the post-colonial world, particularly in Africa.
