Albumen print photograph, 152 x 207 mm, laid down on its original 19th-century album page of thin card, 315 x 245 mm; both the print and mount are in fine condition. This view was most likely taken by Charles Bayliss (or possibly John Paine). It looks northeast across the harbour from close to the foreshore in the Botanic Gardens, not too far from the Man O War Steps; Cremorne Point can be seen in the distance, beyond a three-masted cargo ship, while Fort Denison is obscured behind the tall trees at centre.
