Folio, front cover with a bichrome lithograph of the Chusan by the important colonial artist George French Angas (front cover detached, some browning and foxing to front and rear), 4 pp of musical notation, internally clean and fresh. Rare. The composer and publisher Henry Marsh arrived in Australia in 1850 and established the firm of Marsh Co in 1852. His composition The Chusan Waltz celebrated the maiden voyage of the first P. O. steamship to operate as a regular mail ship between England and Australia. Copies are recorded in three Australian collections (National Library of Australia; State Library of New South Wales; Australian National Maritime Museum).
