First Scottish edition, 4to, pp. 4 , 63, 1 ; full contemporary tan calf, gilt-decorated spine in 6 compartments, red morocco label in 1, double gilt rules on covers, Greek key dentelles, marbled endpapers; small corner tear to p. 21 no loss , spine darkened, extremities lightly worn, joints starting at the bottom; overall very good. This is the variant with the '*' signatures.
