This much-anticipated second edition of Waffle House Vistas includes additional photos and essays as well as a new cover. Published by Bitter Southerne r magazine, Waffle House Vistas is a collection of photographs taken looking out the windows of Waffle House restaurants throughout the American South. Photographer Micah Cash explores the environments which surround these restaurants, ubiquitous in many states. His concentration on setting is so intense that few photos contain humans, and in those which do, people are almost ghosts. It's a remarkable stance, given the Waffle House's reputation as a place where diners come from all walks of life. But it emphasizes how the restaurants fit into different locales, from a freeway interchange or a strip mall to a shady tree-lined street. Each photograph is identified by the location in which it was taken, including the Waffle House store number. Store #1 in Avondale Estates, Georgia begins the collection proper.
