Night Birds on Nantucket; Uncorrected proof editions, signed by the author on the title pages. These four works were part of the Wolves Chronicles, a series set in an alternate 19th century, where the Stuart kings remained in power. The illustrations were drawn by Pat Marriott, who designed the covers for Fleming's Dr No and with whom Aiken worked for 30 years. In 1968, Aiken won the Guardian Children's Fiction Prize for another book in the series, The Whispering Mountain.
