French composer (1857-1934) who played a key role in the introduction of realism in French opera. Beautiful photograph of the composer signed and inscribed by him with a short sentiment, by photographer Benque (Paris). Size is 4.2 x 5.9 inches, trimmed at the bottom, in very good condition. ALSO INCLUDED are two autograph notes in French (untranslated) signed by him, one of them dated 1900; sizes are 4.3 x 6.8 and 4.4 x 5.2 inches, in very good condition.
