French dramatic soprano (1927-2007) who later became a mezzo-, excelled in both French and German repertoire. Gorgeous black-and-white photograph signed by her, shown in costume as Madame Lidoine (Mother Marie) in Poulenc's opera Dialogues des Carmelites -a role she created for the premiere of the original French version in Paris on June 21st, 1957, conducted by Pierre Dervaux. Size is 8 x 9.9 inches, in excellent condition.
