Italian baritone (1858-1926), sang throughout Italy and made guest appearances at the Royal Opera Convent Garden, among other theatres. Following his 1910 retirement, became a leading voice teacher, one of his most prominent pupils was the well known bass Tancredi Pasero. Very attractive signed vintage photograph mounted onto a cabinet, shown most likely as Scarpia in Puccini's Tosca, inscribed in Rome, dated in 1902. Bold handwriting and signature. Photo size is 5 x 7.5 inches mounted onto larger cabinet designed by Montabone, Rome. Total item size is 5.25 x 8.5 inches, four small bullet holes not affecting image and signature, otherwise in excellent condition.
