Typed letter in German signed by him, dated July 21, 1939, stating: “Due to an overabundance of work and unfortunately also due to a prolonged illness, I only have time today, after the end of the semester, to thank you once again for the gracious welcome we received from you at our concert in Florence. It was a great pleasure for all of us to experience the open-mindedness with which the students of your famous institute received the performances of our chamber orchestra, and we will always remember the beautiful evening with you with gratitude. I hope that one day I will also have the pleasure of welcoming you to Berlin with some of your master's students. At the same time, I would like to take the liberty of sending you our last two annual reports, which should give you an insight into our work…”.
