Argentine general (1778-1850) and the primary leader of the southern and central parts of South America's successful struggle for independence from the Spanish Empire. A wonderful note written in Spanish signed by the General at the bottom of the manuscript and by Ignacio Barceló. In this document, the Argentine leader speaks about Chile and recommends Jose Ignacio Barceló (father of the Chilean jurist Jose Maria Barceló 1835-1887) from the Chilean army to become part of San Martin's army. Size is 8.5 x 12 inches, 1 page, folds, overall rust tone, some small holes, in overall very good condition.
