Prominent American writer and editor (1931-2023) who was at various times the editor-in-chief of the Simon Schuster and Alfred A. Knopf publishing houses and of The New Yorker magazine. Typed note signed on the New Yorker letterhead with handwritten signature, rejecting a proposed article solicitation for the magazine, dated in 1990. Size is 4.5 x 7.25 inches, very small crease on top right and one fold, otherwise in excellent condition.
