The cartoon shows a black family stretched out in the long thin shadow of a shadeless tree. 1 vols. 10-1/2 x 10-1/2 inches. Slight soiling, three small thumb smudges. Item #31733 A vintage cartoon, using racial caricature, by the artist who later created the popular comic strip Skeets. The cartoon is captioned: Sam, with his brother and family make the best of the fact that the one and only tree is not of the shade variety.
