Superstar Russian ballet dancer (1938-1993), one of the greatest of the 20th century. Original black-and-white photograph by Richard Avedon featuring the Russian dancer in rehearsal with the Ukrainian ballet teacher Valentina Pereyaslavec (1907-1998); ink-stamped on verso by photographer. Size is 10.2 x 8.4 inches, minor damage on corners, top and bottom borders irregularly trimmed, otherwise in excellent condition.
