American tenor (1920-2013), active at the New York City Opera in the 1950s, also a recitalist and oratorio singer, performed the title role in the United States premiere of Benjamin Britten’s “Albert Herring,” in 1949. Signed photograph, shown as himself, inscribed. Size is 8 x 10 inches, very small creases on corners, otherwise in excellent condition.
