German tenor (1914-1974), one of the leading Wagnerian heldentenors in the post-World War II era. Fine black-and-white photograph signed by him with a short sentiment dated 1965, shown in the title role of Wagner's opera "Tannhauser"; ink-stamped on verso by photographer Siegfried Lauterwasser (Bayreuth Festival). Size is 9.3 x 11.8 inches, in excellent condition.
