First edition, presentation copy, inscribed by the photographer to John le Carré using his real name, "Dear David, With grateful thanks for your help. From Pat 74." The signature is accompanied by the photographer's red ink stamp and a stamp with the title of the book in Chinese seal script.Fok travelled through China during the Cultural Revolution and captured the period's distinctive political and social flavour. The inscription is on the front free endpaper.
